About First Church of God
Who We Are
Here at FCOG, our mission is to love God and love people by keeping Jesus the Subject of everything that we do while we GROUP together in fellowship, GROW together spiritually, and GO together into our community. We are a congregation of the Church of God Reformation Movement of Anderson, Indiana.
First Church of God Services
Sunday's
Here at FCOG, we meet together for morning worship at 10:00. Children are released for classes following the music portion of our service, and nursery care is provided throughout the entire morning. If you are an early riser we have 3 adult Sunday School Classes that meet at 9:45 AM. You are Welcome to join any of those classes. Sunday evenings we meet together for music and Bible study at 6 pm. Childcare is not provided for our evening services at this time.
Wednesday's
Wednesday nights are dedicated to Bible Study. Adult Bible Study begins at 7 pm Youth and Children's programs start as follows: 5:00 pm with fellowship, games and just hanging out. at 6:15 we will serve dinner at 7:00 we worship with live music, and Bible teachings to all age groups. Age groups are split into different groups for Bible Study and special activities for the younger children. Please do not drop your children off before 5:00 and pick them up promplty at 8:00 PM. Groups
Young At Heart is a group for 55+ that meets once monthly on the first Monday of the month at 12:00 noon. A main course is prepared and participants bring sides and desserts . A fun activity follows after eating lunch and sometimes trips our planned to interesting places.
Pastor Wendell Abbott
Lead Pastor
Pastor Wendell has faithfully served our congregation since 2010. He is active in various community groups and projects including the Nowata Ministerial Alliance and the Church Service Team of Oklahoma for the Church of God Anderson. He and His wife, Michelle, are a blessing to both our congregation and our community.

Youth Pastor
Pastor Kelly has faithfully served our congregation since 2021. She has had a positive impact on our communities children and youth, as services. by the growth our Wednesday night youth program

Get Involved
Men's Bible Study & Fellowship
Men's Bible Study : Men's Bible Study meets the First Monday of the month at 6:00 pm. They have supper and fellowship together followed by a study of one of the books of the Bible.

Women of Church Of God (WCG's)
​
The Women of the Church of God play an active role in the mission of the church. Their main focus is missions and service to others. They meet on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 3:30 pm in the Mabery Center. Some of the activities they do include a Craft Fair in November, fundraisers for both foreign and local missions, adopt a child program through World Vision, and a Ladies Tea in the Spring.
The ladies also visit a local nursing home on the 1st Saturday of the month.
